5 Tips for Creating Visual Ads That Pop

Home » BizBlog » 5 Tips for Creating Visual Ads That Pop
November 18, 2019 by Vlad M.

Creating ads that generate results requires a combination of powerful copy and visuals. And with so many visual ads in the digital world today, creating eye-catching visuals is key to keeping up and being noticed in a sea of online ads.

But how do you craft a visual ad that really pops? We’ve put together 5 of our best tips!

 1. Keep It Simple

In a visual ad, you don’t have a lot of time or space to convey complex messages. Keeping the message and design simple is key. The best visual ads are straight to the point and convey a clear message without over-stimulating your audience. Staying focused on one message will allow your audience to quickly see and digest the information you are providing in your ad.

2. Maintain Hierarchy

A simple best practice is to maintain the hierarchy users have come to expect in ads. You want your ads to be quickly scannable, so include your company logo, the value proposition, and the call-to-action. Using these key elements keeps your ad focused and visually pleasing.

3. Include a Call-To-Action

Tell your audience clearly what you want them to do next, and do it in such a way that grabs attention. Whether it’s “Buy Now” or “Claim Your Offer,” using a strong action verb directs your audience to the next step, which is what your ad is all about! Use a contrasting color that grabs your audience’s attention and stands out from the rest of the ad visually.

4. Keep Your Brand Consistent

Your ads are an extension of your marketing and of your brand. If your ad looks nothing like the rest of your marketing material, it only confuses your audience. Keeping your website, marketing material, and ads consistent allows for greater brand awareness.

5. Select Images that Enhance Copy

Getting the copy just right is only half the battle. When it comes to generating a visual ad, you want to be sure that the visual portion can either stand on its own, or enhances the copy and furthers the story you are trying to tell. Don’t slap a visual image on an ad just for the sake of having something visual. Instead, make sure that the copy and visual work together to create a compelling ad.

Don’t waste your advertising dollars on ads that simply won’t convert. With these 5 tips in mind, you’ll be sure to create visual ads that stand out and urge your audience to action.
