Content is king.
We’ve heard this over and over again. 2014 has definitely not slowed down the content train, and I don’t see it stopping anytime in the future, especially as Google continues to find ways to penalize websites for poor, or duplicate content. This puts a great pressure on companies to have original and interesting content so that they can actually be found on a Google search.
But is Google the only reason we should care about the content on our websites?
Definitely not.
Customers and potential customers care about content. They care about how you present your company through the content that circulates its way throughout the internet, whether it is on your website’s blog, through social media, or a guest blog post. Very few people actually pay attention to commercials any more. Advertising is not what it used to be. People don’t trust advertisements. They trust content. They trust businesses who are up front and honest with them about the issues and trends going on right now.
If you haven’t noticed, social media is full of content that people found interesting and cared enough about to pass along to their friends and family. Content is extremely important to the internet user, and therefore it should be important to the people who should be creating it.
