If you haven’t incorporated mobile marketing efforts into your business, check out these statistics from eMarketer:
- In 2013 there are expected to be 1 billion active mobile app users worldwide spending 101 billion minutes a month on Android/iOS apps alone.
- In the United States, users will spend another 23 billion minutes a month on the mobile Web.
- In 2012, 92.5 million people in the U.S. redeemed a digital coupon and it’s estimated by 2014, the number of U.S. adult digital coupon users will surpass 100 million.
Mobile users rely on smartphones and tablets to shop, check prices, do research, find directions, read email, engage in social media and more.
With all this interaction going on, what do your customers want from you on their mobile devices?
Ask them
The simplest way to find out what information your customer specifically wants from you on their mobile devices is to ask them and then get permission to contact them via their smartphones or tablets. If you get their permission first, you’ll avoid getting blocked as spam and know your messages have a better chance of being read and acted upon.
Coupon Or Sales
Text or post a coupon that’s redeemable by showing the mobile device in the store or restaurant.
Location-based
When customers are searching for businesses like yours in your area, can they find your business? Make sure your business is represented on local search directories, ratings and review sites such as Yelp, Local and Google Places, to name a few.
Mobile Web
Consumers expect your website to be mobile friendly; if it isn’t, they will search out your mobile-friendly competitor. Make sure your site loads quickly, is readable on all mobile platforms (responsive design helps here) and has an easy-to-navigate interface.
